In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), any personal information sent via this website will only be used to contact you with details of services you have requested.  
​Your personal details will not be retained for any other purpose, nor will they be shared with any third party or other organisation.

Privacy Policy

The purpose of this statement is to let you know what personal information Blythe Counselling, collects and holds, why I collect this data, how long it is stored for and your rights over your personal data. Blythe Counselling is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), reference C1526477.

1. Information about you
I collect personal information from you when you enquire about our counselling services to set up an initial appointment. This information includes contact details, your availability and other relevant personal information. 

 

2. Use of this information
Your data will be used only to provide you with my services and to give you information relating to my services. I will not share your details with any other person or organisation without your knowledge and permission unless there is a legal requirement as stated in the counselling contract. For example, if there is an Adult or Child safeguarding issue, or a perceived risk of harm to self or others, then personal information may be shared to relevant third parties.

3. Security
I will take all reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give me. 

Basic written contact details such as Name, Age, Address, GP  information will be stored in a lockable filling cabinet. Contact details will be shredded within 7 days of final session.

Anonymised session notes will be kept on a password protected word document.

Written notes will be kept secure for 5 years after your last Counselling session as per my insurance policy. After such time they will be deleted.

Under 18 years, your notes will be kept secure for 5 years after you have reached the age of 18 years. After such time they will be deleted.

 

4. Your rights over your personal data 

If you would like to see the information I hold about you, or would like to correct, update or delete any records, please email me at ollie@blythecounselling.com

If you have any concerns about our use of your data, please contact me directly at ollie@blythecounselling.com. I will do my utmost to resolve any concerns you have. If for any reason I cannot resolve the issues you may choose to contact the ICO directly.
